Affirming Autism

About the clinical team

We are specialist adult autism diagnostic clinicians with over 40 years experience working in the NHS. We currently work in a specialist NHS autism diagnostic service. We assess using ICD-11 diagnostic criteria.

We embrace a neuro-affirmative approach, celebrating neurodiversity and inclusivity.

We can assess people who have more complex issues, including ADHD or other neurodevelopmental differences and those who may not communicate verbally.

Clinicians are registered with the HCPC (Health Care and Professions Council) and NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council)

We have undertaken specialist training in working with neurodivergent people and assessing Autism.

We are trained in:

Ready to start your assessment?

If you think you may be autistic, complete an AQ10 assessment form. This will help you decide whether it is worth seeking a specialist assessment.

Link to complete the AQ10 : https://docs.autismresearchcentre.com/tests/AQ10.pdf

If you score 6/10 or higher on the AQ10 and have some characteristics which you think might be associated with autism, it may indicate the need for a specialist assessment
