Before you arrange your assessment
You must be over 16 years of age to book an assessment with Affirming Autism. If you are aged 16-18, we advise you to have someone who knew you in your early childhood to support you in your assessment.
If you think you may be autistic, you should complete an AQ10 assessment form. This will help you decide whether it is worth seeking a specialist assessment.

If you score 6/10 or higher on the AQ10 and have some characteristics which you think might be associated with autism, it may indicate the need for a specialist assessment.

General advice about accessing help
Affirming Autism is not an adult mental health service. Our focus is solely on autism diagnosis.
If you are experiencing significant mental health issues (e.g. if you’re having suicidal thoughts or you’re considering self-harming),it is vital you seek support from the right services/professionals before you attend.
