What our customers are saying
"I honestly found the whole process really seamless. I really appreciated the effort made to respond so quickly and that you were able to allay any concerns I had, as someone who was getting an assessment as an adult woman".
I had a very positive experience with Affirming Autism. Ruth and Natalie were both very thorough, professional and understanding in their questioning and assessment. I would definitely recommend them. A stress free and very helpful assessment and I have a better understanding of myself as a result.
"They made me feel understood, seen and heard. Not many people discuss autism in a positive light which I think was also a reason I didn’t get it tested for so long which I regret now.
Finding out that it wasn’t just a quirk - the things I did, and that a lot of people with autism do the same as I did, made me feel less weird about them and that it wasn’t strange but completely justified and recognised in a wide community."
I recently went through my autism diagnostic assessment with Affirming Autism, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
From the very beginning, the whole process felt incredibly well-structured and supportive. The pre-diagnostic assessment was thorough and helped set clear expectations, and this level of professionalism continued all the way through to the follow-up session.
A special thank you to Natalie and Ruth, who were both outstanding throughout. They guided me through each stage with genuine kindness, patience, and understanding. It never felt clinical or rushed—instead, they created an environment where I felt completely safe, listened to, and respected.
I especially liked how they took the time to also explore some of the positive impacts of my autism, and where it has helped me in my life.
I’m extremely grateful for their support and would highly recommend Affirming Autism to anyone considering an assessment!
"Everything was really informative from the start to finish about what to expect. I sent several emails before the assessment and they were all responded to in a timely way. Natalie and Ruth conducted the assessment in a way that really supported my daughter to feel able to engage, relax and feel less anxious. I worried that the assessment would be too long to do in one session and we were given the opportunity to split the session if needed. But because of the individualised approach that Natalie and Ruth took my daughter did manage to complete the full assessment in one appointment. We received the report really quickly and had a follow up appointment to discuss any questions."
"I am so grateful to Natalie and Ruth for, not only really listening to me, but for being able to see through the decades of masking, self deception and internalising. Throughout the process they were supportive and reassuring. I did find that I was so utterly drained, mentally and emotionally, by the anticipation of the assessment that I found it hard to communicate effectively. Thankfully both Ruth and Natalie helped me through and teased out the information needed. Three, plus hours was exhausting but I’m not sure that I would have wanted to split it up. By the end I was too tired to think. Trying to unpick a lifetime of co-operative behaviour that took no account of my own needs is an ongoing process and I am so thankful that they were able to understand that. Thank you both".
"I really appreciated the effort both you and Natalie made to make me feel more comfortable in the assessment. I’ve read so many reviews of other companies not responding to emails, or taking months to get reports out, but my experience with your company was great. As I said below, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you!"
"The experience was painless, stress free and comforting. At the age of 25 I decided to have the test. I didn’t have it previously because I was coping and didn’t think finding out would change anything. But it did! finding out gave me the reason I am the way I am and that I wasn’t just “quirky”. The entire experience was amazing".
My experience with Affirming Autism was a very positive one.
As a high masking female, seeking an Autism diagnosis at age 53, I wasn't sure whether my assessors would be able to 'see behind the mask'. However, Ruth and Natalie were both very thorough and treated me with kindness and compassion. I would highly recommend Affirming Autism to others, especially older females.
"Ruth and Natalie were amazing! So kind and reassuring and really listened to me. They were able to see behind the mask of a highly masking older lady".
"You were so kind and easy to talk to, it made such a difference. Thankyou also for both ensuring that my child was at ease and was able to navigate through the assessment in such a friendly and calm environment."
"I honestly don’t know where to begin in saying how much this experience meant to me, finally getting tested after years of maybes and no certainty".
This makes everything we do so worth while - Thank You!
